About the studio

Sisters helping make even the smallest details of your wedding feel custom.

Pearl & Sapphire Designs is a sister-run stationery studio. Alexa and Rachel make invitations and day-of paper goods for your wedding.

The Story Behind Pearl & Sapphire

When thinking of what to name our stationery business, we wanted something that felt like us. Being sisters, we have a lot of inside jokes and memories, but not a lot that fit the theme or spirit of what we wanted our business to be (somehow Doritos Locos Tacos and Baja Blast Freezes don’t have the ring to it that we were hoping for). We also wanted to make sure our name conveyed what our work is about: weddings. So, we got to thinking about our own events and realized that even though we got married in completely separate states and had entirely different locales, the theme of gemstones was consistent. Alexa got married at Sapphire Creek Winery and Gardens in Chagrin Falls, OH, and Rachel got married in the Pearl Room at XIX in the Bellevue in downtown Philadelphia. And, after many hours brainstorming over FaceTime calls, we got our name.

Meet the Team

Alexa and Rachel at a wedding

Alexa

Loves spending hours rummaging through estate sales and vintage stores, an avid crocheter, and watcher of reality television. Alexa is our wordsmith and content curator. She is the voice behind our social media posts, website copy, and correspondence with new clients.

Gus, the mini dachshund, wearing a party hat

Gus

One-year-old Mini Dachshund, loves destroying all of his toys, playing, and spending time with friends and family at home. While Gus’s favorite activities typically alternate between napping in a sunny spot on the couch and causing mischief, he also loves helping his mom correspond with clients, and posting on social media.

Alexa and Rachel at a wedding

Rachel

Lifelong Directioner, baker extraordinaire, and explorer of all the wonders Philly has to offer. Rachel is our creative mastermind, crafting mock-ups and turning your vision of your wedding stationery into reality.

Otis, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy

Otis

Just a puppy, but already a creative powerhouse at P&S. When this Cavalier King Charles is not napping or experiencing what his parents can only describe as “witching hour,” Otis helps his mom come up with different ideas to present to clients. Otis is a big fan of die-cuts, so much so that he loves ripping up any paper or toy that he comes across.
